The final results (10-year followup data) from the Barrow Ruptured Aneurysm Trial have been recently reported here. The study found that the final outcome as measured by percentage of patients with mRS > 2 was similar in the coiling (46.6%) vs. clipping (44.5%) group at 10 years. There were 2 re-bleeding patients in the coiling group during follow-up period. The aneurysm obliteration rate at 10 years favors clipping.
