Only active members may hold office and vote. Active members receive multiple discounts including: 1) 20% discount for print subscription to Stroke; 2) 10% discount for first year of AHA membership; 3) Priority Access to seminars / courses at CV Section Annual Meeting, and 4) Access to the Cerebrovascular Section Newsletter.
An adjunct member must be sponsored by two active members and must be approved by two-thirds of the Executive Committee and by a simple majority of the Section membership. Adjunct members will be assessed two thirds of the annual active membership dues. Adjunct members will receive all benefits of membership except 1) they may not vote or hold office, and 2) they are not eligible for discounted registration fees.
All graduating residents will receive two years of active membership for the price of one year as they transition to Active status. Program Director attestation is required.
International members will be assessed one-third of the annual active membership dues. International members will receive all benefits of membership except 1) they may not vote or hold office, and 2) they are not eligible for discounted registration fees.
Resident members will not be required to pay dues, may serve on committees, will receive the resident registration rate to the CV Section annual meeting, but will not hold office and will not be eligible for discounted Stroke Journal or AHA membership fees. Resident members will be considered for active membership after completion of residency training according to the requirements of active membership. Extension of membership in the Resident category may continue under circumstances of further fellowship training following receipt of a written request to the Membership Chairman and approval by the Executive Committee.
