Lecturer: Laligam Sekhar

Laligam Sekhar, M.D., is a board certified neurosurgeon at Harborview, vice chair of UW Neurological Surgery and a UW professor of Neurological Surgery and Radiology.  Dr. Sekhar is a world-renowned expert in treating complex neurosurgical problems, particularly skull base tumors. He is also an expert on surgical treatment of blood vessel disorders in and around the brain. He believes in creating active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.   Dr. Sekhar earned his M.D. at Madras Medical College in India. His clinical interests include treatment of complex neurosurgical disorders. His research interests include robotics and their application to medicine, stem cell therapies to improve outcomes for neurosurgical patients, continuous quality improvement in vascular and skull base neurosurgery, thought experiments on technology and the future of sentient beings.
